What They Liked The title in the red spooky font made the genre clear right from the beginning I like how there's a lot of dialogue, so the viewers know what's going on Cutting back and forth between different clips to help viewers know that whatever is happening is occurring at the same time I liked how the bible was incorporated to give the driver a reason to go back into the building. The shot of him running back was well executed, not too shaky or blurry. I llike how they cut back from the girl to the guy who was pulling up to meet her. I really liked the overall concept and storyline of the film. I also liked how "The Trip" was repeated multiple times throughout the opener.  I liked how the transitions and angles helped create a consistent/smooth flow and gave the viewer a sense of change of location/scenery. Film Opening Research #1 Mamma Mia

How many titles are displayed during the opening sequences to the film?  There were 2 titles displayed during the opening sequences to the film. What images are prioritized in the opening sequence?  An image prioritized in the opening sequence is the main character mailing  three different letters while singing. Then it shows the letters being received by different men who seem surprised about what they received. What connotations do the images carry?  When the main character is singing and mailing the letters their is a feeling of importance and that what she is doing means a lot to her. When the men receive the letters they appear to be shocked, but excited.  How is genre reinforced through symbolic and technical codes from the outset?  The genre of the movie is a musical and drama. Editing Post 2

The second time our group edited together we tried our best to go through each scene and make sure they were the right speed. Because our movie needed to emphasize certain scenes we put them in slow motion or even speeded them up. In the scene where Nick was running, we had to speed it up to create urgency. In the following scene this is an example of us editing Maddy walking into the airport. We slowed it down to emphasize the planes. This also made her walk look more dramatic and important.
